Oregon Sports Authority in Review

NorthCoastOregon July 11, 2008

The Oregon Sports Authority has served as the state’s sports economic development arm for more than a decade, injecting millions of dollars into Oregon’s economy each year through sports tourism. Financially supported by more than 150 annual members, the non-profit organization works relentlessly to enhance the state economically and culturally through sports.

The Oregon Sports Authority’s major achievements include landing the 2009 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, U.S. Figure Skating Championships, Women’s World Cup Soccer and Dew Action Sports Tour. The organization is also the driving force behind efforts to bring a Major League Baseball, NHL, NFL or Major League Soccer franchise to Oregon.
