Samuelson Is A Great Advocate
I am writing this letter in support of Ann Samuelson. I am the Director of Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare, which is the county mental health center. I have been in this area only since last summer, and in that short time I have come to appreciate the hard work and support of many of my community partners, and Ann is one of them.
In my opinion, she works tirelessly on many issues, not the least of which is getting out into the community and speaking about mental illness and the need for our County to increase services and resources for those who struggle with a variety of emotional issues and substance abuse. Ann has become one of our strongest advocates, and her keen ability to understand and communicate about the needs of those who can’t always advocate for themselves has been incredibly impressive to me.
In my opinion, Clatsop County residents should applaud her for her efforts, and really understand that she is all about increasing the quality of life for our children and families, their education, their safety, and the well-being of all the more fragile residents of our county. The success of our community is very dependent on people like Ann Samuelson, who are not afraid to speak out and illuminate some of the problems while also clarifying some of the solutions.
I think Ann is a great advocate for us all, and should be given support and not barriers in her efforts to make this county even stronger than it already is.

Or like when Matt and Jesse both cowtowed to the Samuelson’s clan, and changed their public expressions of disgust at her actions, presubably due to extreme pressure from the matriarchy. (What were you boys threatened with?)
I would love to know where these two left their cahonas.
Too bad such good people can still be drawn into the good ol’ boys system of covering for each other at any cost.
Can anyone out there still remember that the whole recall is based on what would appear, to any thinking individual, as a complete abuse of trust of the community members. Can we remember that there are laws and regulations which our board members are REQUIRED to follow?
I thank God that Karl Meier at least had the class not to enter into the grade school tactics that seem to be the only way that the Samuelsons know how to use to defend undefensible actions. He may be wrong, but at least he is an honest man with class.
By the way, one of the Samuelson boys searched out the petition, days after it was available, so that he could be sure to sign it. His comment was that “Ann could care less about the district or the county. She has much larger political ambitions.” (PPS) Too bad they got to him. I hope their BS doesn’t convince any other voters.

You are after Ann because you are pissed at Dave. You want to recall Ann from the school board because you are mad at the way she voted as a county commissioner. Neither a reason to recall Ann Samuelson from the school board. Every thing you have said here is GOSSIP and RUMOR. Don’t you ever tire of going after people based on GOSSIP and RUMOR? For the record, I have never been in favor of a recall. I think I made that perfectly clear at the Feb. board meeting when I ripped Coralyn Eady’s head off for using my name to promote her and Oly’s recall. I believe that if you don’t agree whith an elected persons agenda, then you vote against them in the next election. Furthermore, it is no secret that my brother dislikes Ann, yet he was man enough to admit that Ann and Karl are good for our school, Which is where his nephew (my son) will graduate from.
You use the term “Samuelson clan”. Allow me to introduce you to our clan and how they relate to my son, the real reason we want Jewell School to be the best school in the state. Matt (Henry’s dad), Faith (Henry’s mom), Jesse (Henry’s uncle), Phil (Henry’s grandpa), Dave (Henry’s great-uncle), and Ann (Henry’s great-aunt). If for one second you believe that we would forsake Henry’s future to cover for a woman whose only been in our family for ten years, then you are a disgusting puke who has no idea about the amount of work put into one little mans future.
I would thoroughly enjoy defending my beliefs to you in person, oh, but wait, you hide in shame behind a stupid little catch phrase. How am I to know who you are? I guess I’ll just wait for you to come out in the open to me. I’ll be at the Jewell Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser tomarrow night, volunteering my time for the youth of our community. I won’t be hard to spot if you want to come up and chat. I’ll be “M C ing” the event so just come look for the guy with the mic and I’ll be sure to make time to discuss how you think I’d sell my son short on education.
To think that you share the same community with me makes me sick. I’m sure you haven’t lived here long so why don’t you do everyone a favor and go back to wherever it was that you came from. You make me sick!
