Puppy doesn't like this bill

Kentucky Representative has filed a Bill in the House to ban anonymous internet posting. Website Operators would be fined $500 for the first offense and $1000 there after.

The bill would require anyone who contributes to a website to register their real name, address and e-mail address with that site. Their full name would be used anytime a comment is posted. Representative Couch says he filed the bill in hopes of cutting down on online bullying. He says that has especially been a problem in his Eastern Kentucky district.

Unless the law would give website operators the authority to check names against legal records (voter registration, DMV, IRS, etc) ... people could still post anonymously by making up names and addresses.  And even if the law gave website operators such authority, posters could just use someone else’s name/address information.
