This was cool! Too bad we don’t have a show place for these kinds of groups, like they had for the kids in the ‘60s. Maybe the guys in their 60s now would remember how important that was and create something for these kids, now?

This group really sounds professional. How did you come across them?

I have my searches...so this video popped up under one of my searches. I have heard about this group before from some of my co-workers..(that are no longer working at the smokehouse) but I never have heard them perform.

You’re right about them having no place to play at.  But there are at least some good places for the over 21 groups out there...which is a step in the right direction.

Regatta Square posted over on DSM that they want local bands for a “battle of the bands” on Saturday, during the regatta. Anyone have contact info for the Good SHip Astoria? Regatta Square can be contacted at .

Are there any other local bands?

Nice stuff from some natural pros. At least two of those young folks have music in their blood going back many generations. I used to hang with their Dad a lot who played a mean jazz keyboard (piano&organ;) and his specialty upright bass. Their Gram was a music teacher and church organist, the Gramp quite the singer.
