Date Set To Appoint New District 3 Commissioner

Staff May 14, 2008

At today’s Clatsop County Commission meeting it was decided that Wednesday, May 21st, will be the day that the Board picks Richard Lee’s replacement. Since the Guy Boyington Building will most likely still be occupied by the elections office, the decision may have to be made in one of the County Court Rooms in order to accommodate all of the people who might like to attend. Four people have filed applications, Jim Neikes, John Raichl, David Ambrose and Tod Lundy. Commissioner Ann Samuelson made the recommendation to set the date for the 21st to give people more time to give their input in the selection of who to appoint to the District Three seat. Samuelson also asked for the meeting time to be scheduled for 6pm so that those working during the day would have the opportunity to be present for the meeting. County Manager Scott Derickson reminded people that emails and letters could be sent to the county offices and would be forwarded to the commissioners.

People can send email to . Letters can be sent to Clatsop County Board of Commissioners; 800 Exchange St., Suite 410; Astoria, OR 97103.

According to who, McGee? BWAAAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHH!!

Look, Pal, Raichl might be a nice guy and all that, but come on. His entire working life has consisted of being just another over paid gold plated hog feeding from the overly generous public trough. The only thing he knows is money for everything comes from the taxpayers, including his pension, medical bennies and all the other perqs that the little guy has to provide for him and his ilk at tax time. He’s never had to make a business work, never had to sweat to make a payroll, he’s never known what too much expensive bureaucracy does to the working man. Raichl and his ilk arent the solution, they are the problem. Now this county produced some great commissioners in the past. Names like Howard Johnson, Jim Scarborough etc. Now it’s time to add Jim Neikes to the list. He knows the score about what it takes to get along here through the tough times and the good.
He is the right man at the right time.
