2008 CASA Auction Raises $43,000

CASA prepares for an upcoming fundraiser

In the words of CASA Board President Andy Burns, “To say the least it was a
very successful event.”
The event had 3 main funding sources. First was the dinner itself in which over 200 people paid $25 a piece to attend the dinner.

Next was what some called the “Betsy beg session” in which Betsy Johnson went around the room and asked people for donations and then read the name and the dollar amount off of each check. It was at this time that someone gave a anonymous donation of $10,000. Still no word on who the “secret donor” was.

And last was a auction in which close to 100 items were donated by people in the community and sold to the highest bidder.

Mr. Burns also added “It was a lot of work, but it all paid off for the good of the community and the
kids in the court system.”

Word on the street is that it was a large middle aged obscenely wealthy heiress from St. Helens who wears funny glasses. I know I know, that’s being pretty general so here’s another clue. She’s in politics and has a problem with the FBI!
Oh! I love mysteries!

Don’t you?

Well, you darned fool!

Yes yes, we all know how much good it does when lawyers get donated money, Mr. Burns. Especially when those poor kids in the court system dont see one red cent of it.

This money goes to CASA.  This is a group of special volunteers that step in to advocate for a childs best intrest, they are not lawyers even tho on occation they do need the services of an attorney for the childs best intrest. Thanks to all of CASA for all you do.

I didn’t realize getting LNG from Alaska was considered “importing”, Pat. According to Merkley he is going to force Alaska to sell their fossil fuel to US. According to Alaska … By Nick from the article Rehearing of FERC's Bradwood order is granted for Limited Purpose.
