- About NCO
What’s most important to you?
Jobs, the environment, public safety, the arts?
All of the above?
Clatsop Vision 2030, created by the Clatsop County Board of County Commissioners, wants you to join the conversation and offer your input on Clatsop County’s future at one of five upcoming “Clatsop Vision 2030 Together” workshops.
The events will offer citizens the opportunity to learn more about the Vision 2030 project and join the dialogue on where we are as a county today, where we may be headed tomorrow, and where we would like to be in the future – a vision for our county in the year 2030.
The vision and goals developed through this conversation will be used to guide the policies, plans, decisions and actions of Clatsop County, as well as be available to inform the decisions and actions of the county’s cities and unincorporated communities, local businesses, civic organizations, and community groups.
“With the demands of day-to-day life, it can be a challenge for people to devote time to considering their long-range goals and plans – and it can be the same for local communities and governments,” County Manager Scott Somers said. “A visioning process gives us – citizens and policy makers – a great opportunity to step back and imagine where we’d like to be 15 or 20 years from now.”
The project kicked off earlier this year with one-on-one interviews and small-group discussions with local stakeholders and other participants to identify the key focus areas and help guide planning for the outreach process to follow.
Those key focus areas are:
· Economy and Jobs
· Arts, Culture and History
· Education and Learning
· Public Health and Safety
· Community Development
· Environment, Natural Resources and Recreation
While the workshops will be open to all comments and ideas, each event will emphasize one or more of the key focus areas. Comments and ideas specific to each community will also be welcome.
