ASOC’s fall production, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, final weekend Oct 25th-27th.

The final weekend for Astor Street Opry Company’s Fall Production ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST, written by Dale Wasserman and produced with permission by Samuel French Inc., Publishing House, is October 25th to the  27th with the curtain raising at 7:30pm at the ASOC Playhouse, 129 West Bond Street in Astoria.


Sponsored by The Pet Works, Bogh Electric, LJ Allen Construction, 5 Lil’ Monkeys, Rusty Cup, Northwest Lending Group and  Bits N Bites Computer Service this dramatic comedy centers on the untamed, anti-establishment “Rebel without a Cause” hero, Randal P. McMurphy, who believes a short stay in a mental asylum beats a stretch in prison. That is until he is unwittingly pit against the tyrannical Nurse Ratched in a showdown that embroils all residents of the sanitarium.

As narrator of the story, the tall figure Chief Bromdom, guides the audience through his own perceptions and battles to regain his freedom. Please be advised, this show has mature adult subject matter, strong language, and periodic violence, parents should accompany minors.


 Directed by Markus Brown this Tony and Oscars winning full length play features Steve Wood as Randle P. McMurphy,  Barry Sears as Chief Bromden, Deborah McEuen as Nurse Ratched and includes: Andrew Dyer, Eric Keto, Jim Coffee, Jason Hippert, Brian Allen , Mark Lang, Dan Driscol, Bill Carr, Bob Goldberg, Carrie Barnes, Eric Bredleau, Kendall McEuen and Thea Trembly.
