Scrooged in Astoria Opens Dec 1st

Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus and an Evil Max Krooke. Both can be found at the 5TH Annual presentation of Scrooged in Astoria at the ASOC Playhouse, coming just in time to lighten up the holidays.

This hysterical holiday show, written by Judith P. Niland, with traditional Christmas tunes and original songs by Philip Morrill, is the perfect way to entertain out of town guests, the employee company party or just yourselves!

Scrooged in Astoria was the second in a series of three ASOC Anchor Shows for the new Playhouse. Loosely based on the beloved timeless classic by Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol, this local production of Scrooged in Astoria is ASOC’s melodramatic adaptation featuring the 25 year stage hit Shanghaied in Astoria characters, the penny-pinching, miserly, Max Krooke Jr., as “Scrooge” guided by a special group of Christmas Ghosts who all come to help him learn about the renewal of spirit and how to correct the errors of his ways.

The ghosts included: The” Big” Krooke as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Miss Macie as the Ghost of Christmas “Presents” and a character new to the ASOC stage, the Ghost of  “What is yet to be,” Scandinavian legend  Saint Lucia. Included with this magical show are fantastic holiday raffles and photos with Santa, Ms. Claus and his little Elves.
