Some in Planning play favoritism, that’s no secret. Some in planning plot revenge, and that’s no secret either. Quite a few people have had denials that end up very costly when they have to be appealed. Each step requires filing a fee. People who got a Measure 37 approved are going to have a tough go of it and I really hope that things like what Neikes is showing here doesn’t make it more difficult. On one hand I don’t want to bury the out and out favoritism that goes on down there. on the other hand I can’t help but hope to be on their good side hoping the process goes real easy when its my turn. It may not be fair but lets face it doesn’t it seem like that’s the way life is?

Jim Neikes isn’t someone I would want on my bad side.
He has time, money, and patience and is fierce about private property rights.

Is it any wonder why people work like beavers on the weekend to start and finish a project so it won’t be noticed. I avoid any permit when I can, putting in windows or sky lights, adding to the drain field, new shop, remodeling a bathroom. I’ve had enough of those snotty folks at planning and building. They are like the DMV on steroids.
