by Tryan Hartill

Cost:FREE!

What: World Religion Day (celebrated since 1948)

Why: Clatsop Community College, Arts & Ideas Program

When: Jan 19th,2008, 7PM, Saturday

Where: Performing Arts Center, 16th & Franklin Sts. Astoria, Oregon 97103

We are pleased again to offer a musical, spiritual presentation on 6 of the worlds great religions. In a time of crisis and fear when many are polarized and feeling isolated, we take this opportunity to focus on our similarities, so this years question “How do we honor Unity in Diversity?”. The format will be 5 to 10 min to speak to the focus question & the same for chanting/ prayer/dance or singing to help us experience each presenters Spiritual practice. The first hour will feature the first 3 historically revealed Faiths, of the 6 we have chosen, so Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist. Then after intermission Christian, Islam & Baha’i. The program begins at 7PM at the Performing Arts Center at 16th and Franklin Sts. and is absolutly FREE!

When we study the Holy Scriptures we find the same universal message, stated in language appropriate for the time and place in which it is revealed. As mankind has matured, educated and raised himself up, a messenger of God has brought more knowledge and revealed a slightly higher standard with each new Prophet. It is no longer acceptable just to tolerate, we must love ALL of human kind.
